Why this matters now

Children remember what they feel.

Elementary students are growing up in a world that can feel fast, loud, and disconnected. A meaningful assembly creates a shared pause to laugh, sing, wonder, and practice the words children need for feelings, kindness, confidence, and belonging.

THE LITERACY NEED 40%

of fourth-graders performed below NAEP Basic in reading in 2024.

Children need instruction, practice, and joyful reasons to connect with books and ideas.

The Nation's Report Card ↗
THE BELONGING NEED CONNECTED

Students who feel connected at school are more likely to have higher grades, better attendance, and graduate.

The CDC describes connectedness as feeling cared for, valued, supported, and that one belongs at school.

01

Feel seen

When a child feels recognized, the door opens to connection, participation, and learning.

02

Find their voice

Stories give shy and uncertain children a safe language for courage and self-expression.

03

Practice kindness

Characters and choices make empathy concrete, memorable, and easier to use in real life.

04

Build belonging

A whole school can leave with positive language that continues after the assembly ends.

More than an author visit

A live experience built for the whole child.

Lisa does not simply read at students. She invites them into the story, then helps them connect what happens on the page to their own feelings, friendships, choices, and dreams.

  • Interactive storytelling students can retell, discuss, and write about
  • Music, puppets, movement, and art that make comprehension memorable
  • SEL and PBIS themes explored through characters, choices, teamwork, and reflection
  • Visuals and repetition that support multilingual learners and varied learning styles
  • Teacher-friendly follow-ups designed to feel doable, not like extra work

A clear learning path

The SHOW • GO • GROW approach.

Joy gets their attention. Participation makes it personal. Simple next steps help the learning continue.

01

SHOW

Books, music, puppets, characters, and Lisa's own story bring the lesson to life in a way children can feel.

02

GO

Students respond, move, imagine, practice new language, and make a meaningful choice while the idea is fresh.

03

GROW

Teachers and families can continue with books, discussion prompts, activities, songs, and low-prep resources.

What students carry forward

Five ideas that can change tomorrow's classroom.

Clear enough to remember. Personal enough to matter. Practical enough to use.

01

My voice matters, even when I feel shy.

02

Feelings are easier to understand when I can name them.

03

Kindness is something I do, not only something I say.

04

Being unique is a strength, not something to hide.

05

I can help someone else feel seen and included.

THE ASSEMBLY ENDS. THE LANGUAGE STAYS.

Every child deserves to feel
seen, heard, brave, and loved.

A joyful school experience can become a shared language for an entire campus.

Who can help fund a visit?

Many schools combine more than one source. Your school or district makes the final decision about allowable costs, but Lisa's team can help you prepare the information needed to ask.

01

PTA or PTO

Parent groups often sponsor assemblies, author visits, literacy events, and student enrichment experiences.

02

School or district programs

Ask about literacy, SEL or PBIS, school climate, student wellness, arts, cultural enrichment, or family engagement budgets.

03

Title I or Title IV-A, with approval

A visit may be considered when it supports a documented literacy need or an approved well-rounded or safe-and-healthy-students goal.

04

California Prop 28

Music, theatre, or other eligible arts-instruction components may be considered. A general literacy or SEL assembly does not automatically qualify.

05

Foundations and grants

Education foundations, literacy grants, arts grants, and local nonprofit partners may help sponsor a school visit.

06

Community sponsors

Local businesses, service clubs, donors, and families can help underwrite an experience for one school or an entire community.

Questions schools often ask.

Which grade levels are a good fit?

Programs are available for PreK through grade 6. Lisa's team can shape the language, story, participation, and pacing for your grade bands.

Can the visit connect with our school's goals?

Yes. Share your literacy, SEL, PBIS, belonging, kindness, creativity, or family engagement goals. The team will discuss the best story and format for your students.

How long is an assembly?

Length and format are planned around student ages, audience size, grade bands, and your bell schedule. Tell us what your day looks like and we will explore what fits.

Can we include books or classroom resources?

Yes. Ask about signed books, schoolwide reading opportunities, teacher packets, songs, activities, and low-prep follow-up resources.

Does Lisa travel outside California?

Yes. Lisa accepts school inquiries city by city. Travel, timing, and multi-school opportunities can be discussed with the booking team.

Does one assembly replace our SEL or PBIS work?

No single event replaces consistent school culture work. Lisa's visit is designed to reinforce your language, create a memorable shared experience, and give educators useful ways to continue the conversation.
